Acknowledging Our Collective Trauma

We are going through a collective trauma.

More and more people are reaching out for help dealing with chronic thoughts and feelings of fear, worry, and anxiety.

According to the American Psychological Association,

“Anxiety is an emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts and physical changes like increased blood pressure. People with anxiety disorders usually have recurring intrusive thoughts or concerns. They may avoid certain situations out of worry. They may also have physical symptoms such as sweating, trembling, dizziness or a rapid heartbeat.”

Your body holds traumatic energy.

Most self-help books talk about the importance of changing your thoughts - but your thoughts are only one small portion of your psyche. Your emotions, your beliefs, and the accumulated energy of your predominant moods can become lodged and embedded into your body’s cells.

Clearing and releasing happens through the wisdom of your heart.

Your heart is a portal through which energy can be transmuted and transformed. Trauma must be acknowledged; grief must be witnessed. You can learn how to shift your emotional energy by focusing on the wisdom in your heart.

You are not alone. Connecting with others, sharing what’s true for you, and being in the presence of like-minded people who care can be nourishing for your soul.
